About the Migrant Midwesterner

I grew up in a small town in the midwest of the United States but developed a passion for travel at a very young age while traveling often with my family. Throughout the years of university, I took advantage of as many abroad programs as I could. As I got older I learned to love the backpacker stye of travel. Heading out on my first solo backpacking trip will forever be my fondest memory. However this blog comes to life beginning with a cultural exchange program that I took part in. It being the longest I had been away from home, inspired me to document my experiences. Returning home from the exchange with even more passion for travel, inspired me to continue writing. I had always wanted to share my travel stories and knowledge, so this space will be a collection of my travel plans, opinions, hobbies, and tips.
